The 14 competitors who advanced to Round Four in the ninth season of “Chautauqua’s Got Talent” put on quite a show at The Spire Theater on Monday.

With the knowledge that four eliminations were forthcoming, it was apparent that those who had survived to this point of the production had put in a full week’s worth of preparation into their performances — and it showed.

Performing in this week’s round of competition were Mia Rowe, Devin Bielata, Miranda Wilcox, Olivia Gren, Avryiana Atwater, Dylan Carlson, Amanda Forbes, Jubal Samuelson, Ayrianna Brady, Karle Christoph, Jackie Bielata, Ryanne Smith, Angel Rodriguez and Kayle Dean.

Each act was a chance to perform one song to show off their talent, and were then judged by a panel of four judges: Jamie Lee, Steve Davis, Paul Clemente and Heather Skuggen.

Audience members were asked to vote for their nine favorite contestants and the four with the fewest votes were eliminated. Those contestants were Rowe, Smith, Gren and Dean.

Co-presented by Big Time Productions and The Post-Journal, “Chautauqua’s Got Talent” offers Chautauqua area residents a unique opportunity to compete against one another using a variety of skills and abilities. There is one remaining round of competition, the finale, which will be held Monday, April 9. The host of this year’s competition is local comedian Jeremy Little, who received a standing ovation for his fine work upon his first entrance to stage.

In addition to singers and musicians, the contest also encourages other types of entertainers, such as comedians, magicians and dancers, to perform in front of a live audience over a five-week period. The contest also welcomes groups as well as solo acts.

This year, being the contest’s ninth consecutive run, the grand prize will be $900 and studio time with Ron Wheeler at Impact Sound Co. and Lost Recording Studio, coming soon to downtown Jamestown. Wheeler is also running sound production for this year’s competition.

Presale tickets to individual shows are $7, and are available for purchase online at spiretheater.org. Tickets are $9 at the door.

The Spire Theater is located at 317 E. Third St. in Jamestown. For more information on this year’s “Chautauqua’s Got Talent” competition, contact The Spire Theater at 450-7357, or by email at jamestownspire@gmail.com.
