Firefighters Battling Blaze At Clymer Amish Sawmill
CLYMER — Several fire departments were called to a fully engulfed fire at an Amish sawmill in the town of Clymer Tuesday afternoon.
The fire was reported around 1:15 p.m. at 9227 Cherry Hill Road, next to the Edwards Chapel United Methodist Church. Fire officials reported thick black smoke high in the air.
A second alarm was called due to the size of the blaze.
Firefighters from Clymer, French Creek, Findley Lake, Panama, South Ripley, Sherman and Mayville were called to the scene, as were Chautauqua County fire coordinators.
County fire investigators were summoned around 2:40 p.m.
