A house on Wigren Road in Frewsburg burned down Friday afternoon as a result of a structure fire starting from an attached garage.

Responding fire departments included Frewsburg, Busti, Kennedy, Falconer, Kiantone and Russell, Pa., who arrived at the scene following the call at 4:53 p.m.

According to Dan Sisson, Frewsburg assistant fire chief, firefighters spent about an hour knocking down the blaze, which had already spread from the garage to the rest of the house.

“It was fully engulfed,” Sisson said.

There were no injuries reported. The Lightner family, owners of the house, have received aid from the American Red Cross.
