Tickets are now on sale for the Chautauqua Regional Youth Ballet’s 2017 Spring Gala.

The production, under the artistic direction of Monika Alch, will be presented on Saturday, June 17, 7 p.m. at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts. The program will feature all the students of the ballet in a mixed program featuring classical and contemporary repertoire.

The first half of the program will highlight students in Creative Dance through Intermediate 2 dancing to music from The Fairy Doll by Bayer.

The second half of the program will feature the Advanced and Pre-professional students and will offer three original ballet works and a contemporary work. The ballet pieces are set to music from John Corigliano’s Red Violin, Verdi’s Spring and the 1st movement of the Bach violin concerto in a-minor. The contemporary work is set to music from Mozart’s Requiem. There will also be a violin interlude performed by CRYB students Aaron and Boaz Mecham.

Alch, artistic director, credits the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation for supporting new choreography residencies this past winter with choreographers Michael Cerwinski from New York City and Brittany Bush from Jose Mateo Ballet in Boston. During the week-long workshops, the artists set the Verdi and Mozart pieces on the Chautauqua Regional Youth Ballet dancers.

“We are excited to share this new and exciting choreography with our audiences,” Alch said.

Seating is reserved and tickets are available at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts at the Box Office by calling 484-7070 or visiting www.reglenna.com.

The ballet is accepting registrations for its summer dance offerings. For information, visit www.cryb.net
