Gazebo To Host Rustic Ramblers
CHERRY CREEK – Music performed by the Rustic Ramblers will be the featured entertainment Thursday as the 2015 Cherry Creek Summer Gazebo Concert Series continues.
Third in the series for this year, the concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in the Memorial Park on Main Street, behind the town hall. The concert will be held rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be in the pavilion of the ball park on Main Street.
Supper-type refreshments will be available, and those planning to attend are reminded to bring their own lawn chairs for seating.
Rustic Ramblers play a variety of country music, pleasing to fans of all ages.
A special feature of the program this summer is the inclusion of a featured musical selection for the evening which corresponds to a historical event in Cherry Creek’s history, as the hometown celebrates it 200th birthday this year. The selection “As Long As The Grass Shall Grow” will be featured this week as local resident Pete Smallback remembers the Kinzua flooding and how he nearly lost his land.
“We had great weather, wonderful music and an outstanding portrayal of Joseph Kent, our town’s founder, last week,” said Brenda Hendricks of the Cherry Creek Community Association Inc. “We’re looking forward to another terrific Thursday evening.”
The 2015 Cherry Creek Summer Gazebo Concert Series is sponsored by the Cherry Creek Community Association Inc., and funded in part by the New York State Council On The Arts Decentralization Regrant Program with support from Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, and administered by the Cattaraugus County Arts Council. This program is also supported by Chautauqua Brick, other area businesses, the town and village of Cherry Creek, and community members.
