Woman Attempts Store Robbery

A female suspect who reportedly tried to rob a Jamestown store Sunday is currently on the loose.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, the woman allegedly entered the U.S. News store, located at 1377 E. Second St., at approximately 9:15 a.m., where she handed the employee behind the counter a note demanding money from the register.

As the employee attempted to engage the alarm, the suspect shoved the employee back from the counter and reportedly fled west from the East Second Street plaza with no money.

Police say the suspect is a white female, in her late 20s or early 30s, approximately 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall and 120 pounds. She was wearing a brown Carhartt-style jacket with a brown winter hat and green scarf.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Jamestown Police Department at 483-7531. An anonymous tip can also be given at 483-TIPS (8477). All calls will be kept confidential.
