RIPLEY — Minimal damage was reported in a fire Tuesday afternoon.
At 1:27 p.m., the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team responded to the scene at 9807 Sandy Lane for an origin and cause fire investigation.
Ripley Fire Department along with mutual aid departments, the Office of Emergency Services, and Westfield Police responded to the working house fire. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the bathroom.
Fire investigators conducted an investigation and determined the fire had originated within the bathroom ceiling exhaust fan unit and due to quick actions by the occupant and the firefighters, contained the fire to the unit.
No injuries were reported and the fire is being ruled accidental in nature.
