– Ryan D. Edwards, 42, of Jamestown was charged with two counts of first-degree criminal contempt, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and fourth-degree criminal mischief at 6:30 p.m. Monday at an east side home. Officers received a complaint regarding a past-tense domestic incident involving multiple alleged violations of an Order of Protection. Edwards allegedly threw and damaged the protected party's cellular phone before allegedly forcibly taking her to the ground and applying pressure to her neck. Following the incident, Edwards allegedly contacted the protected party numerous times using generated telephone numbers. He then reportedly returned to the protected party's residence the following day and made contact with her, in further violation of the Order of Protection. With the assistance of the Ellicott Police Department, officers located Edwards outside the city of Jamestown and took him into custody. Edwards was taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
– Steven J. Seavy, 35, of Brocton was charged with petit larceny, fourth-degree grand larceny and tampering with physical evidence at 5:53 p.m. Monday at the Riverwalk Center. Officers were dispatched to the Riverwalk Center in Brooklyn Square for a complaint of someone entering a vehicle that didn't belong to them. While on the way to the scene officers were advised that a man later identified as Steven J. Seavy was being chased down the street by the registered owner of the vehicle after Seavy allegedly stole items from the person’s car. Seavy was eventually taken into custody near the St. Susan Center, where he was allegedly found to be in possession of the victim’s wallet, which included credit cards and their ID. Seavy was taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
– MAYVILLE – John P. Brinkley, 59, of Chautauqua was charged with DWI, DWI per se and no/improper turn signal at 7 p.m. Monday after deputies pulled a vehicle over on West Chautauqua Road, Mayville. Brinkley will be in Chautauqua Town Court later.
WESTFIELD POLICE
– Matthew Jaynes, 45, of Westfield was charged at 9:28 a.m. Sept. 17 with fourth-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal tampering after officers responded to a complaint involving damage to security cameras in the town of Westfield. During the investigation, witnesses allegedly identified Jaynes as the person who caused the damage. Jaynes was charged and taken to the county jail to be arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Part program.
