City man charged after Sept. 4 stabbing near Riverwalk

A Jamestown man has been charged in relation to a stabbing near the Chadakoin Riverwalk on Sept. 4.

City police officers responded to the incident at 10:30 p.m. Sept. 4 in the area of 7 N. Main St. for a reported stabbing that had occurred near the Riverwalk Trail. The victim was located, treated, and transported for further care after sustaining what was believed to be serious injuries as a result of the stabbing.

The Jamestown Police Department was assisted at the scene by members of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Fire Department, and Alstar Ambulance.

After further investigation was completed, a warrant was obtained for David D. Rodriguez, 35, of Jamestown, charging him with one count of first-degree assault. City police officers later charged Rodriguez, who was arraigned in Jamestown City Court and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail.
