Jamestown youth charged after stealing, wrecking truck

An 18-year-old Jamestown youth was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI per se .18 blood-alcohol content or higher, fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, fourth-degree criminal mischief, unregistered motor vehicle, expired registration, unlicensed operator, moving from lane unsafely and driving across hazard markings after a one-vehicle accident at 6:26 a.m. Tuesday on Busti-Sugar Grove Road.

Lakewood-Busti police officers responded to the scene and found a truck wrecked in the ditch on the west side of the road. Officers identified an 18-year-old Jamestown youth who was allegedly intoxicated and had allegedly stolen the truck from a Busti resident.

The youth will be in Busti Town Court later.
