Two Charged After Hazeltine Avenue Raid Monday

A Jamestown man and a Buffalo man face charges after a drug raid earlier this week on Hazeltine Avenue.

Krystafur J. Bowman, 30, of Jamestown, and Kyante R. Pearson, 31, of Buffalo, were charged after a search warrant was executed at 210 Hazeltine Ave., upper apartment, at 9:30 a.m. Monday by members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office narcotics investigators with assistance from the Jamestown Police Department SWAT team. Bowman and Pearson were allegedly found inside the apartment and were detained by SWAT team members. Detectives searched the apartment and reportedly found 188.4 grams of cocaine, $1,201 in cash, digital scales, packaging materials and cutting agents. Detectives also allegedly found 5.9 grams of fentanyl and 10.3 of crack cocaine when searching Pearson. While being taken to the Jamestown city jail for processing, Bowman allegedly removed 19.4 grams of fentanyl that had been hidden inside of his body and allegedly tried to conceal it in the back seat of a Jamestown Police Department patrol vehicle.

Both were charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance while Bowman was charged with one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and Pearson was charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Both were also charged with three counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and Bowman was charged with tampering with physical evidence.
