City Man Charged After Allegedly Hitting Officer

A Jamestown man has been charged after allegedly hitting an officer in the face during an incident Wednesday on the city’s north side.
According to a police report, Christopher L. Murray, 65, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree assault and resisting arrest at 1:47 p.m. Wednesday after officers responded to a report of a disorderly person obstructing traffic on the city’s north side.
Officers arrived at the scene and made contact with Murray. While officers were trying to investigate the complaint Murray allegedly began yelling and hit an officer in the face. Murray then allegedly struggled briefly with officers before he was charged and taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
Police report the officer had minor injuries.
