City Man Charged With Weapon Possession
Two Jamestown residents face charges after police responded to a report of a person with a handgun on Monday.
Kevin A. Garcia-Maldonado, 24, of Jamestown, was charged Feb. 23 with criminal possession of a firearm, and second-degree menacing, and Tasia M. Davey, 27, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree harassment. According to police, at about 3:29 p.m., officers responded to a south side residence for a reported person with a handgun. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a victim on scene, and two suspects identified by police as Garcia-Maldonado, and Davey. Through investigation it was found that Garcia-Maldonado allegedly had menaced the victim with a handgun during the course of a verbal argument. Police also found that Davey allegedly made physical threats of harm to the victim.
Officers recovered a Taurus 9 mm handgun from the scene, and determined that Garcia-Maldonado did not possess a valid New York State Pistol Permit. Both were charged and taken to Jamestown City Jail. Both will be in Jamestown City Court later.
