City Man Charged After Allegedly Shooting Gun Near JPD Officer

A Jamestown man faces charges after allegedly pointing a gun at a police officer who was responding to a domestic incident on the north side of Jamestown.

Thomas J. Didomenico, 41, of Jamestown was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, second-degree criminal contempt, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, menacing a police officer and second-degree criminal mischief after an incident at 8:57 p.m. Thursday. Officers responded to a reported domestic incident and officers report seeing Didomenico inside the house with a person who had a valid Stay Away Order of Protection against Didomenico. According to a police report, Didomenico walked outside the home with a loaded firearm where an officer and the other person involved in the domestic incident were located, firing a round in proximity to the officer and other person. Didomenico then allegedly dropped the gun as other officers arrived. Didomenico was charged and taken to the city jail for arraignment.

Officers allege Didomenico also caused extensive damage inside the house.

Didomenico was and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail.
