City Man On Parole Facing Weapons Charge After Traffic Incident

A 31-year-old city resident with a violent past and state parolee is facing more trouble after an incident Thursday evening.

Jamestown police report Alvin J. Jusino Jr. was charged with third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree criminal impersonation, resisting arrest and tampering with physical evidence. At about 9:30 p.m., officers observed a male subject commit a state Vehicle and Traffic Law infraction on the East side of the city.

Due to the observed violation, Officers performed a street check on the subject in effort to issue a citation. The subject, who was later identified as Jusino provided officers the name of another individual who officers are familiar with in effort to evade the citation.

Officers asked the subject his name again and he took off on foot, which resulted in a foot pursuit. While running from police to evade capture, Jusino threw a backpack onto a lawn just prior to being placed into custody.

Upon searching the backpack Jusino threw, officers located a shotgun that was altered for concealment purposes. Jusino is a two-time convicted felon and was last convicted of second-degree attempted assault on a police officer in July 2024, therefore he cannot possess any gun.

Jusino also is on state Parole for the felony conviction.

He was being held in city jail pending arraignment
