City Woman Charged In Assault, Robbery

A Jamestown woman is facing numerous charges after using a knife to steal a phone and prevent a victim from leaving a residence.

Amanda M. Pearsall, 30, was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, third-degree assault, second-degree menacing, fourth-degree possession of a weapon and aggravated criminal contempt.

On Christmas Eve, Jamestown police took a complaint of a domestic dispute that occurred at an East Second Street residence. The victim had visible injuries and reported to officers that Pearsall used a knife to forcibly steal his phone and prevented him from leaving the residence. Pearsall was later arrested.

She was arraigned in Jamestown City Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
