City Police Investigating Fourth Street Homicide

Jamestown police are investigating a homicide on East Fourth Street. One person has been detained, according to a police report.

The investigation began at 4:54 a.m. Friday at 314 W. Fourth St., Apt. 5, according to scanner reports. As of noon Friday, city police are still investigating the homicide, though the suspect is in custody and police say there is no known, specific, elevated risk to the public at this time.

The Jamestown Police Department is being assisted by the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Chautauqua County Forensic Investigation Team, New York State Police, Ellicott Police Department, and Chautauqua County Coroner’s Office.
