City Man Discards Stolen Revolver Near Love School Overnight
A Jamestown man faces charges after allegedly discarding a stolen gun near Love Elementary School while being chased by city police early Thursday morning.
At 12:55 a.m. Thursday, Jamestown Police Department officers were conducting routine patrols in the area of 7-Eleven on North Main Street and encountered 20-year-old Harlem B. Green, who was known to have an active felony warrant from Jamestown City Court. While speaking with officers, Green allegedly provided a false name in an attempt to avoid arrest. Green then reportedly ran from officers and discarded a loaded .44 Magnum revolver near Love Elementary School before he was caught by officer.
Through investigation, officers discovered that the revolver was previously reported stolen in 2020.
Green was taken to the Jamestown City Jail without incident. Green is being charged with second-degree criminal impersonation, resisting arrest, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, in addition to the outstanding warrant. Green was held in the city jail until he could be arraigned.
