A Jamestown man has been killed in a motorcycle accident Sunday afternoon.

Benny I. Salva, 35, of Jamestown was riding his motorcycle on Barrett Avenue near McKinley Avenue at the time of the accident. Jamestown police say the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the accident, which took place at 12:58 p.m. A portion of Barrett Avenue was closed to traffic while police investigated the accident.

The preliminary investigation shows that the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved and had collided with a tree. Officers were assisted by the Jamestown Fire Department and Chautauqua County EMS who attempted to provide life saving measures. The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the Chautauqua County Accident Reconstruction Team and Chautauqua County Coroner’s Office.
