Falconer Man Charged After Jamestown Knife Assault

A Falconer man is facing assault and weapons charges after an incident Sunday morning in Jamestown.

City police report David D. Rodriguez, 34, was charged with first-degree assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of first-degree criminal contempt after the 10:15 a.m. incident.

Officers responded to an eastside address for a report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers observed the victim with serious facial injuries on the sidewalk. Further investigation found that the suspect, Rodriguez, punched the victim in the face with a knife in his hand at a near by residence. Officers then went to the residence and located Rodriguez inside where he was taken into custody without further incident.

While at the residence, it was also found that Rodriguez was in violation of two separate Orders of Protections. Rodriguez was transported to the City Jail. The victim was transported to UPMC Chautauqua for further treatment by ALSTAR.

Jamestown Fire Department and Chautauqua County EMS also assisted on scene.
