Responders End Search For Possible Plane Crash
County responders this afternoon ended a search for a possible plane crash near Dewittville. The call for a plane that was in distress and possibly went down near the Dart Airport came in before 11 a.m. Drones were used to scan the location. Chautauqua County EMS, the Sheriff’s Department, North Lake Fire Department and Emergency Services responded. In addition, crews from Erie County, N.Y., assisted with New York State Police and Westfield Police at the scene. Authorities did close Honeysette Road and Plank Road to traffic due to the report. One emergency call noted a hazy smoke coming from a Honeysette Road location that did not pan out.
