A Jamestown man faces charges after barricading himself in his east side home on Wednesday.

Robert L. Schroeder, 43, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and second-degree unlawful imprisonment after city police officers arrived at a home to help probation officers with a home check at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Schroeder allegedly barricaded himself inside the home and began to make threats, including to shoot officers, and refused to obey officers’ commands. According to a police report, shortly after police officers confirmed there were other people inside Schroeder began to threaten them. Officers forced entry into the house and charged Schroeder. He was taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.

In other police news released this morning:

– Andrew L. Crawford, 29, of Jamestown was charged with three counts of first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, and second-degree harassment after a domestic dispute at an east side home at 7:10 p.m. July 5. Police officers responded to a report of an in-progress domestic incident with reported injuries. Crawford had allegedly entered a person’s home and threatened to harm them while violating two separate orders of protection. Crawford was arrested and evaluated at the scene by EMTs for self-inflicted wounds. He was treated at UPMC Chautauqua and then taken to the Jamestown City Jail until he could be arraigned.

– Ryan J. Freeman, 24, of Jamestown was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, fourth-degree criminal mischief and criminal obstruction of breathing at 3 p.m. Wednesday after police responded to a report of a woman calling for help during a physical domestic dispute. The phone was hung up during the conversation. Officers arrived to find a woman in the home who was crying and shaken up who told them that Freeman allegedly choked her and prevented her from calling police for help. Freeman was charged and taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
