“Be prepared to laugh and forget about life’s problems during my show,” Nicole Byer, standup comedic artists, voice over actor, actress and TV host about her headline performance Thursday at the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival.

Nicole Byer’s is an actress, voice over artist, screen writer, stand-up comedian, pod casts host and author who is looking forward to her Aug. 2 visit to Jamestown. “I can’t wait to see Jamestown,” she said. “I loved watching I love Lucy as a child.”

Byer’s breakout stand-up show, that aired in 2022 on Netflix, began in a rather unconventional manner. The plus-sized actress opened her Big Beautify Weirdo performance, before a national viewing audience, by swinging around a stripper pole, clade in a hamburger themed bikini.

“I’m genuinely a lot,” she said.

Nicole Byer is one of the most versatile and recognizable voices in the comedy landscape today, acclaimed for her Netflix specials Big Beautiful Weirdo and Comedians of the World and as the host of Netflix’s Emmy-nominated reality-competition baking series Nailed It!

Byer starred in NBC’s Grand Crew and was a fan favorite on MTV’s hit series Girl Code. Her past work includes the Above Average web series Pursuit of Sexiness, which she co-created and starred in alongside Sasheer Zamata, and the scripted comedy series Loosely Exactly Nicole. Her network television and feature work include Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, Lady Dynamite, Party Over Here, BoJack Horseman and 30 Rock. She regularly hosts the popular podcasts Why Won’t You Date Me, and What the Tuck? She is an Upright Citizens Brigade alumnus who continues to cement her status as a force in stand-up comedy, regularly performing in cities across the country.

There is still time to get tickets to see Byer – one of the freshest and most fearless voices in comedy today — as the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival kicks off on Thursday. Look for the rest of our exclusive interview with Byer in tomorrow’s edition of The Post-Journal.
