City Police Report Three Weapons-Related Incidents

– Daniel R. McKay, 30, of Jamestown, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop at 9:47 p.m. Tuesday. According to a police report, officers pulled over a vehicle at North Main and West Sixth streets for a traffic infraction and confirmed the driver was driving with a suspended state non-driver’s identification. McKay, a passenger in the vehicle, was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant from Jamestown City Court and was also allegedly in possession of two loaded handguns, 21.3 grams of methamphetamine, crack cocaine and fentanyl, all of which was packaged individually to be sold. McKay was taken to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was found to be a convicted felon who is not allowed to possess firearms. McKay was held until he could be arraigned in Jamestown City Court.

– Katelynn J. Cornell, 29, and Michael A. Lapp, 35, were charged after an incident at 2:21 p.m. Tuesday on the city’s west side for a reported person with a weapon. According to a police report, officers were told Cornell had already taken a black handgun back inside the home. Officers determined Cornell had allegedly used the gun to threaten a person by pointing the gun at the person’s head while Lapp allegedly stood next to Cornell as a physical menace while they mutually intimidated the person. Officers report finding a black BB gun inside the home. Cornell was charged with second-degree menacing and Lapp was charged with third-degree menacing. They were both taken to the Jamestown City Jail until they could be arraigned.

– Anikyn L. Fuller, 21, of Jamestown was charged with two counts of second-degree menacing after officers responded to a report of a person with a weapon at 5:41 p.m. Tuesday on Jamestown’s north side. Fuller allegedly used a black pellet gun that appeared to be a long gun and pointed it at two separate people while also allegedly making verbal threats to shoot one person in the face while brandishing the gun at another person. Fuller was charged and taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
