City Man Charged After Sunday Raid

A drug raid Sunday at 312 East Sixth Street has landed a four-time convicted felon in the Chautauqua County Jail.

Bruce J. Miles, 35, of Jamestown and Rochester, was charged with one count of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, one count of criminal possession of a firearm, and one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing 10 Suboxone sublingual films after a raid at 1:20 p.m. Sunday at 312 E. Sixth St., upper apartment, Jamestown.

According to a police report, members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force executed the search warrant with assistance from the Jamestown Police Department SWAT Team. Miles, also known as Magic, was reportedly found alone inside of the residence. After the apartment was secured, detectives searched the property and located a sawed-off and defaced shotgun. Police report Miles is a four-time convicted felon who is prohibited from possessing firearms.

Miles was charged and taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned in Jamestown City Court. He was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail on Monday without bail due to his previous felony convictions until a preliminary hearing can be held.

The Jamestown Police Department was assisted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Dunkirk Police Department and Jamestown Fire Department.
