Second Fire In 3 Months On Beaujean Road, Mayville
MAYVILLE – A property that has been the subject of numerous complaints of drug use and people living in temporary structures has had a second fire in less than three months.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, at around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters from Mayville, along with mutual aid, responded to a camper trailer at 7127 Beaujean Road, near Chautauqua Lake Central School, just outside the Mayville limits.
Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office say the fire remains under investigation.
On January 17, during the overnight hours, firefighters responded to that same address for a report of a fire. Investigation found the fire was caused by a propane gas leak within a camper on the property. As a result of the fire, several campers and outbuildings were heavily damaged, leaving them a complete loss.
