Jamestown firefighters made quick work of a fire that broke out Friday on the city’s south side. Crews were alerted around 2:15 p.m. to a kitchen fire at 80 Cole Ave., between Ivy Street and Foote Avenue. Some flames were visible coming from the property as firefighters arrived. At least one person was evaluated at the scene. Also responding to Cole Avenue on Friday were officers with the Jamestown Police Department, Alstar EMS, the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities and city Department of Development. Fire investigators were later called to the scene. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
