Jamestown police are investigating the “suspicious” death of a male found inside a city apartment complex, Police Chief Timothy Jackson said.
City firefighters were initially called a little after noon to the Park View Apartments, 401 W. Fourth St., after an unresponsive person had been spotted on the floor of an apartment. A Chautauqua County coroner was later summoned to the scene.
Jackson said the man’s death is being treated as “suspicious” but could not provide any further information.
Several Jamestown police vehicles could be seen outside the Park View Apartments around 2 p.m. A truck with the county’s Forensic Investigation Team showed up as well.
An investigator with the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office was observed leaving the scene.
More information will be released as it becomes available.
