City Man Jailed After Pursuit Leads To Crash Into Home

A 53-year-old Jamestown man who fled from police in a vehicle and caused another motorist to strike a home is facing a host of charges.
Daniel Garcia was being held for court proceedings following Wednesday’s incident.
Officers around 9:40 a.m. had observed a red sedan traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of Maple Street and Ahrens Avenue. The driver, later identified as Garcia, refused to pull over and proceeded to pass a stop sign, causing another motorist to strike a fence and home on Maple Street.
The unidentified motorist was evaluated by members of the Jamestown Fire Department and Alstar EMS.
Garcia led police on a brief pursuit before stopping in front of a home on the city’s south side. He was taken into custody after attempting to flee, Jamestown police said in a news release.

The 53-year-old was transported to Jamestown City Jail. He is facing charges of first-degree leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, first-degree reckless driving, speed not reasonable and prudent, resisting arrest, unlawfully fleeing police in a motor vehicle, two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation and nine counts of failing to stop at a stop sign.
He was additionally charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, JPD announced.
