Man Injured In Early Morning Shooting In Jamestown

A man sitting on a porch in the city of Jamestown was shot in the early morning hours Thursday.

According to Jamestown police, the man was outside a Whitley Avenue home when he was struck by gunfire a little before 2 a.m.

The man was airlifted to a nearby hospital and was undergoing surgery, JPD said. An update on his condition was not immediately known.

The suspect, police said, fled on foot after the shooting and headed east toward the West Sixth Street bridge.
