Kimberleigh Haslett and Noah Clever with the Erie Zoo were at Hazeltine Public Library on Thursday to show kids Amelia the corn snake and Mango the box turtle. The two spoke inside the library’s community building and allowed kids in attendance the chance to gently touch each animal while describing their place in nature. The theme of Thursday’s event was animal adaptations. As part of its summer programming, the Audubon Community Nature Center will visit Hazeltine Public Library at 11 a.m. Friday, July 21. The event is free and open to the community. Three kids are pictured Thursday with Amelia, who is being held by Haslett.
