Dunkirk Man Charged After Warrant Yields Narcotics, Cash

DUNKIRK — A search warrant that took place Friday morning on Gazelle Street led to the discovery of fentanyl and cocaine and charges for a city resident.

Around 6 a.m., the Dunkirk Police Department along with Dunkirk Police Special Response Team, Dunkirk Police Narcotics Detectives, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office K-9 and the Jamestown Police Narcotics Detectives entered 114 Gazelle St. in Dunkirk. This was the result of a two-month investigation into narcotics sales out of the residence.

Located inside the residence at the time of the search was Angel Castillo-Cruz, 40. As a result of the search investigators found 13.3 grams of fentanyl, 1.42 grams of cocaine, scales and packaging material for narcotics sales, and $305.

Castillo-Cruz was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was transported to the Dunkirk Police Department to be arraigned in the City of Dunkirk Court.
