Arrest made in Dunkirk following four month drug investigation

DUNKIRK — A Dunkirk man has been charged with illegally possessing and selling drugs.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, on Thursday around 9:40 p.m., the Dunkirk Police and Deputy Sheriff’s Narcotics Investigators executed a search warrant at 708 Main St. in the upper apartment in the city. This was the result of a four-month investigation into narcotics sales out of the residence.

Located in the residence at the time of the warrant execution was 35-year-old Larry E. Brooks Jr. As a result of the search investigators said they found a quantity of crack cocaine, scales and packaging material for the sale and distribution of narcotics, along with $377 in U.S. currency.

Brooks was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, and first-degree criminal nuisance. He was transported to the Dunkirk Police Department to be arraigned in the City of Dunkirk Court.
