Three Charged After Early Sunday Altercation In City

A fracas in a northside Jamestown residence has led to three city individuals facing assault and drug charges.

Jamestown police report they arrived for a domestic abuse call after 1:15 a.m. Sunday at the location. Upon arrival officers discovered that Monica R. Pacheco, 39, and James E. Smouse, 32, engaged in a physical altercation, causing injury. Shortly after, it was then discovered that Dustin A Newbree, 31, damaged property of another. During the investigation officers then located a quantity of narcotics which were in possession of Pacheco and Newbree. All three were taken into custody where they were transported and were awaiting arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

Pacheco was charged with second-degree assault and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Smouse was charged with third-degree assault and Newbree is facing fourth-degree criminal mischief and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance charges.
