Narcotics Probe Leads To Search Of City Apartments

The search of two city apartments this week led to the recovery of fentanyl, heroin and cash.

On Tuesday, the Jamestown Police Department announced that Jamere L. Maisonet, 22, and Karielys Reyes, 21, had been taken into custody.

At about 2 p.m. Monday, search warrants were executed consecutively at 144 Park St. and 116 Park St. Both search warrants were the result of a “narcotics investigation,” the Jamestown Police Department said in a news release.

SWAT team members gained entry into both locations.

Inside a lower apartment at 144 Park St., detectives located two people along with 11 grams of fentanyl and a “large amount of packaging materials.” Charges as a result of the search were forthcoming, JPD said.

Inside an upper apartment at 116 Park St., detectives found Reyes and a 2-year-old child, along with 505 grams of cocaine and U.S. currency.

“The apartment was in deplorable condition primarily from animal excretions,” the department said.

Reyes is facing a charge of endangering the welfare of a child; she was being held for arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

The child was turned over to a family member and is safe, JPD said.

While the apartments were being searched, officers also stopped Maisonet in a vehicle on Foote Avenue, in the area of Jamestown High School. Maisonet, who was listed on one of the warrants, was taken into custody and currently faces federal charges. JPD said those charges would be announced at a later date.

The Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and Jamestown Police Department were assisted by narcotics investigators with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Jamestown Fire Department.
