Woman, 38, Dies After Route 60 Crash In Pomfret
POMFRET — A 38-year-old Fredonia woman has died after an accident on Route 60 last week in the town of Pomfret.
On Wednesday, New York State Police in Fredonia said they responded to a one-vehicle collision on state Route 60 in the town of Pomfret on Friday before noon. An investigation determined that a 2020 Chevrolet was traveling northbound. The vehicle exited the road and struck a tree.
The operator, David A. Korzeniewski, 64, of Fredonia, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger, Katie L. Korzeniewski, of Fredonia, was transported by Mercy Flight to UPMC Hamot in Erie Pa., where she succumbed to her injuries.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted in this investigation.
Troopers say this incident remains an ongoing investigation.
