JPD Reports: Wandering Child, Narcotics Found During Traffic Stop

• Lynette A. Merced, 19, of Jamestown was charged with endangering the welfare of a child at 7:43 p.m. Monday after officers were flagged down by a pair of city residents who had found a 2-year-old child wandering around unattended. It took roughly 30-40 minutes before the person who was caring for the child could be found, with the child two blocks away from that person’s home. The child was not injured and was turned over to another family member.

• Robert Holland, Jr. of Jamestown was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and failure to keep right at 9:31 p.m. Monday after a traffic accident on Newland Avenue. Holland will be in court later.

• Tyler R. Elsesser, 37, of Jamestown was charged with one count of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, five counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation at 3:21 a.m. Tuesday after a vehicle he was allegedly driving was pulled over on East Second and Cowing streets. Jamestown police report Elsesser’s driver’s license had been suspended. Police searcher Elsesser’s vehicle and reportedly found methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, prescription pills, suboxone strips and digital scales. Elsesser was charged and held in the Jamestown City Jail until he could be arraigned.
