SINCLAIRVILLE — Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and took place Tuesday evening in the village.

When deputies arrived at the scene, a male victim was located on Reed Street just after 7:30 p.m. The victim was transported by ambulance to UPMC Chautauqua in Jamestown where he died.

This incident in currently under investigation by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office but it does not appear that this was a random act.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the New York State Police and Sinclairville Fire Department.
