Officer Recognized After Aiding Child Reported Not Breathing
An officer with the Jamestown Police Department is being credited with aiding an 11-day-old baby reported unresponsive and not breathing.
The department, in a message posted to Facebook, said officer Jakki Martin-Ahlbin responded to the emergency call around 10 p.m. on Sept. 19. Martin-Ahlbin made entry into a residence, located the newborn and began performing CPR until members of the Jamestown Fire Department arrived.
“There is no doubt that (officer) Martin-Ahlbin’s actions were live-saving,” the department said. “Her actions not only reflect positively on the Jamestown Police Department, but also speak volumes on her personal character and dedication to service.”
