Health Dept. Reports 20 New COVID Cases
The number of people quarantined increased by more than 50 in Chautauqua County, while the health department reported 20 new cases of COVID-19.
The quarantine numbers went from 276 on Thursday to 328 on Friday.
The number of active cases, meanwhile, increased by three to 122.
Of the new cases recorded, eight came from the Jamestown zip code; three in Ashville; two each in Frewsburg and Dunkirk; and one each in Fredonia, Silver Creek, Bemus Point, Clymer and Westfield.
There have been 274 new cases of the virus in Chautauqua County since Aug. 1 — 64% of those involve people not vaccinated; 18% fully vaccinated; 5% partially vaccinated; and 14% whose vaccination status is unknown.
To date there have been 9,618 total confirmed cases, 9,337 recoveries and 159 virus-related deaths.
The CDC level of community transmission remains at “substantial.”
