Another COVID-related death was reported Thursday by the Chautauqua County Department of Health, marking 47 during the pandemic.

The county also recorded 105 new cases of the virus, totaling 5,302 to date. The number of active cases, meanwhile, went from 695 to 721, according to information released Thursday for data collected Wednesday.

The number of people in the hospital with COVID remains at 42.

Of the new cases, 30 involve people living in the Dunkirk zip code, nine in Fredonia, five in Silver Creek, 33 in Jamestown and five in Westfield.

In Cattaraugus County, 58 new cases were reported Wednesday for 3,181 to date. There were currently 513 active cases as well as 45 people in the hospital and 64 deaths.
