Winter Weather Advisory Issued
Snow is officially in the forecast.
The National Weather Service in Buffalo issued a winter weather advisory for Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Wyoming and southern Erie counties in effect from 5 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday. The weather service said 4 to 7 inches of snow could fall during that time, with wind gusts as high as 45 mph and strongest near the Lake Erie shoreline.
“Plan on slippery road conditions,” the weather service said in its alert. “Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. … Periods of snow will result in snow covered roads and limited visibilities. Slow down and use caution while driving. Submit snow reports through our website or social media.”
