Pair Found In Vehicle With Stolen Plates Jailed

Two Jamestown residents were jailed after police found them in a vehicle with stolen license plates along with items believed to be stolen.

Officers were called at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday to a “suspicious situation” in the parking lot of the Prendergast Library at 509 Cherry St.

An investigation found that 24-year-old Nathaniel J. Grekulak and 27-year-old Carrie L. Poff were in possession of a vehicle with two separate stolen license plates. Poff was also found with a quantity of Phencyclidine (PCP).

“Additional suspected stolen property was located inside of the vehicle and further charges are expected from the incident,” the Jamestown Police Department said in a news release.

Grekulak and Poff were each charged with two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Poff was additionally charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Both were transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.
