10 New COVID-19 Cases Reported In County

The Chautauqua County Department of Health on Tuesday reported 10 new cases of COVID-19, of which one person resides in Falconer, one in Dunkirk, one in Dewittville, one in Jamestown, one in Sinclairville and five in Fredonia.

There remains 36 active cases for those who continue to recover under orders from local health officials. The county Health Department also reported one current active case — and three active community contacts — associated with Fieldbrook Foods in Dunkirk; to date, 85 people tied to the plant outbreak have recovered.

Further, there are currently 12 active cases among students at the State University of New York at Fredonia; 90 have recovered.

Health officials say 252 county residents remain under quarantine/isolation. Not all of those being monitored are confirmed to have COVID-19 but have either shown symptoms, are awaiting results or have risk factors. In addition, 27 people are under domestic traveler quarantine as well as 577 recoveries, 10 deaths, 623 total confirmed cases and 41,435 negative test results.
