A city woman is being held for court after getting into a verbal argument with staff at a Jamestown 7-Eleven for not wearing a face mask.

Officers were called to the convenience store, located at 518 N. Main St., at about 10:30 a.m. for a report of trouble involving a customer. A manager of the 7-Eleven stated that 27-year-old Jessica McAdoo became “irate” when told she could not purchase items without a face mask, as per company policy, to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

McAdoo reportedly yelled for the clerk to “fight her.”

The city woman then pushed a product display, broke equipment and fled the store. She was located a short time later and transported to Jamestown City Jail on charges of fourth-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal tampering.
