Ninth Death Due To COVID-19 Reported By County; 10 Cases Active

One new death and 10 active cases of the coronavirus were reported in Chautauqua County, according to the Health Department in information released on Saturday.

The latest death involved a male in his 70s. The county said the man with “severe underlying medical conditions, (and) newly diagnosed with COVID-19, has died. Our condolences go out to his loved ones.”

Three new cases were also announced involving two females in their 20s and one male in his 70s. There are 187 cases under quarantine/isolation orders by the Public Health Director and being monitored. Another 753 people are under domestic traveler quarantine for having arrived to Chautauqua County from a state listed on the New York state travel advisory and one person was hospitalized as of Friday.

There have been 202 recovered cases; 221 total confirmed cases; and 21,671 negative test results.

According to the county map, there have been 100 cases in the south county, 69 in the north, 35 in the west and 17 in the east.
