16 New COVID Cases Reported By County Health Dept.

The county Health Department reported 16 new cases of COVID-19 during a press conference held Friday in Mayville. The cases involve a pediatric, a boy and a girl in their teens, four women in their 20s, two men in their 20s, four women in their 40s, a man in his 40s, a woman in her 50s, a woman in her 60s and a woman in her 70s.

“Today, unfortunately, we have reached a new peak,” County Executive PJ Wendel said.

Wendel said there are currently 35 active cases within the county, with 364 county residents either in quarantine/isolation. “That number needs to be stressed,” Wendel said. “Those 364 individuals need to pay heed to the quarantine order. It is very important that we follow these guidelines as to prevent further spread.”

As of Wednesday, the latest information available, there are no reported hospitalizations. To date there have been 128 recoveries in addition to 170 total cases, seven deaths and 17,801 negative test results.
