Man Killed In Interstate 86 Crash On Sunday
COLDSPRING — A man was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash Sunday in the Cattaraugus County town of Coldspring.
In a news release Friday, the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office said the 59-year-old was westbound on Interstate 86 around 10:15 a.m. when he reportedly lost control of his 2020 Ford Explorer. The SUV went off the interstate and struck multiple trees, a chain link fence and a guardrail on Lower Jones Hill Road.
The SUV then rolled multiple times before coming to rest upside down.
The unidentified man was pronounced dead by a county corner.
Deputies were assisted Sunday by members of the Coldspring Fire Department, Randolph Fire Department and Randolph Regional EMS.
