Warren County Fair Canceled For 2020

WARREN, Pa. — The tidal wave of cancellations brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic has claimed another iconic community event – the Warren County Fair.

“The Warren County Fair Board of Directors, after much consideration – and with heavy hearts, have made the decision to cancel the 2020 Fair scheduled August 11-15th,” a Facebook post released on Thursday night explained. “The number one priority is to ensure the health and safety of our volunteers, exhibitors, and community in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The board explained in the post that “some other factors that weighed in on the decision dealt with uncertainty regarding gathering restrictions, livestock and concessions participation, logistics with our carnival partners, entertainment participation, volunteer groups participation and the strain on our local economy.”

The board consulted with local and state officials in addition to other Pennsylvania fairs “to gather information before making the decision.”

“Warren County Fair was to celebrate its 90th Anniversary this August. That will now happen in 2021,” the post said. “Looking forward to seeing everyone there, happy and healthy.”
