Westfield Woman Charged In Stabbing Incident
WESTFIELD — A woman who reportedly stabbed a male and was later found hiding in a barn is facing numerous charges.
Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies were called Tuesday around 5:30 a.m. to the town of Westfield for report of an assault involving a knife. A man stated he had been stabbed by 37-year-old Rachel A. Blanchard, who then reportedly fled the area.
The severity of injury wasn’t provided in a news release.
K-9 units with the Sheriff’s Office responded, and with the help of K-9 Link, Blanchard was found about a mile away hiding in a barn off Prospect Station Road.
Blanchard, who was wanted on a warrant for fourth-degree criminal mischief, was taken into custody on charges of third-degree assault, third-degree menacing and possession of a hypodermic instrument.
